For Parents

Do you have a child between 6 to 12 years of age? Middle Childhood Matters has been connecting middle childhood parents to relevant organizations, services, and resources since 2004. We help make Toronto a city where all children ages 6 to 12 and their families have equitable opportunities and resources to thrive.

There are several ways parents benefit from our Coalition. To strengthen skills on important issues, we invite you to our regular parent-learning sessions organized by the Parents Matter Project. These symposia focus on issues of prime importance for parents of children of this age group. Current topics include nurturing relationships, establishing routines, maintaining expectations, adapting to challenges, and connecting to community. Some parents also choose to become Parent Leaders, using their insight and leadership skills to help run learning sessions.

We encourage parents to familiarize themselves with our site’s collection of resources and out-of-school programs for children ages 6 to 12.
